I don't care what anyone has to say...
But posting content on social media is hard.
From coming up with new and fresh ideas every day.
Writing captions and designing posts in Canva.
Recording (re-recording) and editing Reels.
While checking your notifications every 15 minutes hoping and praying for new likes, comments, or DMs.
While some people thrive on this "game"...
I certainly do not.
And if you're anything like me, this isn't a "game" you asked to play when you became a coach.
You likely started because you wanted to spend your days changing people's lives.
Not to become a graphic designer, video editor, or copywriter.
Or, a social media influencer trying to go viral.
Until one day...
We stop playing the game.
We stop posting.
And a lot of folks I talk to?
Go "dark" on social media completely.
Even uninstalling the apps off their phone.
Until...
They need clients again... And the cycle ensues.
I don't like that this has become a reality for so many of us.
And if you're open to it, I'd like to share a strategy that might help you find a bit more balance when "getting back" on social...
...Without completely burning out.
If you're burnt out?
Chances are you either were posting frequently or you've been posting for a long time (leading to burnout)
Which means that you have a bank of a lot of content.
And this bank of content might be exactly what you need to ease the pressure of getting back on social.
Let me explain:
We might be able to leverage your OLD content so that you can post maybe 1-3x a week BUT appear like you're posting every single day.
So then,
If you feel like posting a few times a week feels more manageable, let's dive in.
There are two primary ways we can leverage our old content:
1) Re-purpose old content.
It's been said that less than 10% of your followers see your posts on Instagram.
That means you could re-post an older post... And 90% of your audience has never seen it before -- To them, it's brand new.
And chances are people who did see, won't remember.
Taking it one step further...
You could use your old posts that performed well to inspire new posts or variations of new posts.
Rather than coming up with new ideas, designing new graphics, and writing new captions...
Create micro-variations of your greatest hits.
Maybe you use the same caption with a different image or video. Or the same image with a different caption. Condense a post, expand on a post. Turn a carousel into a video, or a video into a carousel or written post.
Small adjustments take considerable less time and effort than trying to generate a new viral hit every day.
Here's another idea:
2) Turn your best posts into low-cost ads.
For as little as $1/day you can turn your best-performing content into an ad.
While this can be used to build your brand or email list...
It can also be used to give the impression you're posting "daily" and showing up "everywhere"
You can show up in someone's feed,
Every. Single. Day.
Without posting every single day.
Once you have a handful of good-performing posts they can be boosted to give the impression you're posting daily and this can reduce as lot of pressure.
I’ve created a free training on how to do this here.
So then...
If you're looking to get back in the game after burnout,
Or maybe the burnout is starting to set in?
I hope these 2 ideas can get the juices flowing to minimize the chances of you needing to go dark (or do it again).
Burnout is kind of like an overuse injury like tendonitis.
Too much repetitive motion / too much stress eventually builds up until we can't recover. We have to STOP in order to heal.
But, when we start again?
If we repeat the same actions.
We will experience the same outcome.
Just like burnout.
If you've been there before and do the same thing...
I think you get the idea.
If you want a different outcome,
You gotta try a different action.
Hope this helps.
